Provincial Overview
Kampot ([kɑmpɔːt]) is a south west province of Cambodia. It borders Koh Kong and Kampong Speu to the north, Takeo and Kep and Vietnam to the east and Sihanoukville to the west. It has a coastline of around 45 km on the Gulf of Thailand. It is rich in low arable lands and has abundant natural resources. The provincial capital is named Kampot and sits near the base of the abundant green Elephant Mountains and the famous Bokor Hill. Kampot province has numerous historical buildings, such as shopping malls, cinemas, hospitals, etc., are all evidence proves the territory of the province. It has Bokor, is of national and international tourists site. It also has a casino and entertainment, waterfalls and beautiful scenery below the clouds. The country has a tropical climate - warm and humid. In the monsoon season, abundant rain allows for the cultivation of a wide variety of crops. Kampot itself is one of the cooler regions of the country, due to its situation next to the sea and high rainy mountains.
To develop in line with the vision of the provincial government has set out a vision to reduce poverty by focusing on local development and promote good governance through decentralization and centration reform.
The vision of the provinces "residents in the province to upgrade part of implementing good governance, healthy living environment, cultural vibrancy and safety consistent manner".

Why invest in the province?
Kampot, on the eastern side, is rich in low lands which is good for agriculture sector. It also has abundant of mountains and forests with a vast variety of wild animals in the west of the province. The southwest of the province is covered by coastline which is rich in natural resource, fisheries, farming and salt farms. Kampot is a perfect business destination for both local and exporting markets. Given beauty of nature, Kampot has been attracting more local and international tourists pouring in to visit the province and the provincial government is totally optimistic for the tourism industry growth in the near future. The provincial government has continuously strengthened investment environment in effort to diversify provincial economic basis as well as extent provincial good reputation for investment.

Brief Description of the key sector 1) in the province: Rice is the main agricultural output for the province. About 125,000 are kept for rice growing, with an average yield of 2.6 tonnes per hectare in the rainy season and 3.3 tonnes per hectare in the dry season. Fruit is also a major crop in the province, as well. In particular, durian(70,500), mango (593.00), and Palm (877.000). Kampot Pepper is famous. Kampot pepper has been awarded internationally and gain greater geographical indicators that help put our products and brand. Currently, it was found in the main restaurant in Europe. Its plantations yielding up to 6.5 tonnes per hectares. Vegetables are planted on an area of about 66 acres, and supplies to the capital Phnom Penh. Brief Description of the key sector 3) in the province: Province Road connects a total of 4 with a length of about 226 kilometers (about 5% of the national total of the country). Sihanoukville is part of ASEAN. Several major shipping route (eg transport to a local cement factory. Way to Bokor is currently being renovated, and pushing strongly for the tourism sector. Doing Business with Vietnam is supported by an international border (ports and port areas). National Road 31 linking the province to the border with Vietnam, Ton Hon and Prek Chak, which lasted about 1 hour from the town of Kampot.
