Economic Indicators
The Office of Fiscal Policy of Kanchanaburi report “Provincial economic indicator in January, 2017 indicated the provincial economy contract compared to the same month of last year due to the slowdown of agricultural sector supply and shrink of industrial sector. For the demand is increasing from private consumption, border trader (exclude natural gas) combine with the expansion from private investment. For economic sustainability is favorable, inflation increased, employment rate decrease as a result of the decline in large scale industrial.
The (manufacturing) supply has a sign of slowing down, considering from agricultural products (decreased of pork and chicken) output contracted, this month growth is 2.7 per cent to compare to the previous month with growth rate at 52.1 per cent. Industrial output contracted -7.9 per cent, following contraction of -3.2 per cent in the previous month due to the reduction of electricity consumption in large industrial sector contracted by -20.9 per cent. Service sector expanded 10.6 per cent, recovering from the contraction of -4.5 per cent in the previous month from the revenues of golf court, hotel rental, wholesales and retails accounted for 3.0, 5.0, and 11.5 per cent, respectively.

RoadThe main highway that leads into Kanchanaburi province starts from Km. 18 + 592 until the Three Pagodas Pass, the western boundary of Thailand at 287 + 167 km, the total distance is 268.575 km. The highway have two to six lanes road according to the space at the area, covering part of Amphoe Tha Maka, Amphoe Mueang Kanchanaburi, Amphoe Saiyok, Amphoe Thong Pha Phum, Amphoe Sangklaburi. The destination has a temporary crossing point at three pagodas pass to travel to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Highway No. 3229 Highway 323 at km 76 + 850 (Nong Bua subdivision) distance of 52.388 km, the two lanes road. The destination is the hot spring village. There is a temporary crossing point at Baan Numpu Ron pass, which is the entry/exit to/from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Asian Highway AH123 It is the 634,000 kilometers highway from Baan Numpu Ron (Thai/Myanmar border) - Kanchanaburi - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Samut Prakan - Chonburi - Laem Chabang - Map Ta Phut - Rayong – Amphoe Klaeng - Chanthaburi - Trat – Amphoe Had Lek, the route is under the control of the Kanchanaburi Highway, distance 111.787 km. It is a national highway which have two to six lanes road covering the area of some parts of Amphoe Tha Maka, Amphoe Mueang Kanchanaburi. |
